Amigas For Ever
They say that good friends are like stars, you don't always see them, but you know they are always there. It’s evident and unavoidable that people change with time. Circumstances can define your outcome, and the friends around you are the ones to help mold it, and in my case for the better.
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, just a few minutes north of Los Angeles, California. When I started high school, I decided to join the cheerleading team. I walked into the team not really knowing too many of the girls, and that‘s when I met my friend Crystal. From cheer competitions, career struggles, cross country moves, family, love, and life dilemmas.. Crystal has always been there. We have soooo many memories, stories, and as life continues, so does our friendship.
This weekend I was able to spend time with her as she came to Las Vegas to visit. It’s been months since we last seen each other and we always catch up as if no time has passed. I feel so much joy when I see her, she’s honestly one of the most important individuals in my life. From Spice Girl concerts to now discussing how we can contribute to making this world a better place, growth and evolution has helped us always maintain a great friendship.
As we sipped on our vodka pineapple bevis, we got into a discussion about the process and efforts of having an unconditional "that's my girl" bond. How many of us have had countless friends and those friendships have vanished? Although it’s painful, there’s friendships that are only seasonal, and as adults we have to be able to process that. I’m grateful that ours isn’t like that.
If I’ve learned anything in my years of life, it's that a true friendship is a beautiful blessing. Love you Crystal, and thank you for being such a powerful beaming light in my life!
