What I Didn’t Get From My Mama.. La Cocina.
If you’ve followed me for a while, then you know that my family is my heart.
My dad is no stranger to my social media, but my mom on the other hand, seeing her on my stories is like finding a rare pink diamond. Familia is everything to me and I respect their privacy unlike any other.
One place that my Mamí loves is her kitchen. She shines in there, and her cooking is absolutely exquisite! She doesn’t need a recipe, measurements.. nada! Just her creative palate, her pots and pans, ingredients, and boom, a delicious dish ready for us to enjoy 😋 Unlike my mom, I need a recipe. I can’t walk in there without some type of guidance, lol 😆
I can accept that the kitchen is the least place I feel confident if I have nothing to rely on. My mom knows that, which is why she encourages me to join her while she cooks. I’m a total cluts in the kitchen, either I get burned (or burn something) or I accidentally cut myself 🤦🏻♀️ I will gladly say that in this instance, we had zero kitchen accidents to report 😇
Mamí called me and invited me to make egg rolls. She loves Asian cuisine and those are her absolute favorite appetizers to make. My little brother and older sister were to join (hard to believe I’m the middle child, right? 😉) so I was happy to accept the invitation and make Mamí smile knowing she would be cooking with her 3 kids.
I made at least 5 egg rolls on my own 😂, I can’t take credit for more. The time it took me to roll one, my mom had made 3, so I was definitely slowing down production 🙇🏻♀️ Once we were done with the appetizers, and just like the awesome Latina mom that she is, Mami surprised us with the main entree.. a delicious bowl of Pozole 🤤😍
I wish I could say: “check out the recipe..” but there is none 😂 because, again, Mamí writes nothing down! I love her so much and I’m so thankful for her lessons 💖👩🏻🍳
En español: Si me has seguido por un tiempo, entonces sabes que mi familia es mi corazón. Mi papá no es ajeno a mis redes sociales, pero mi mamá, por otro lado, verla en mis historias es como encontrar un raro diamante rosa . Familia lo es todo para mí y respeto su privacidad como ninguna otra. Un lugar que le encanta a mi Mamí es su cocina. ¡Ella brilla allí y su cocina es absolutamente exquisita! No necesita receta, medidas ... ¡nada! Solo su creativo paladar , sus ollas y sartenes, ingredientes y boom, un platillo delicioso listo para que lo disfrutemos 😋 A diferencia de mi mamá, yo si necesito una receta. No puedo entrar a la cocina sin algún tipo de guía, jajaja 😆 Puedo aceptar que la cocina es el lugar donde menos me siento segura si no tengo nada en qué confiar. Mi mamá lo sabe, por eso me anima a unirme a ella mientras cocina. Soy un desastre total en la cocina, me quemo (o quemo algo) o me corto accidentalmente 🤦🏻♀️ Con mucho gusto puedo informar que en este caso, no tuvimos ningún accidente en la cocina 😇 Mamí me llamó y me invitó a hacer rollitos de huevo. Le encanta la cocina asiática y esos son sus aperitivos favoritos para hacer. Mi hermano pequeño y mi hermana mayor se iban a unir tambien (es difícil de creer que sea el hija del medio, ¿verdad? 😉), así que felizmente acepté la invitación para hacer sonreír a Mamí sabiendo que estaría cocinando con sus 3 hijos. Hice al menos 5 rollos de huevo por mi cuenta 😂, no puedo atribuirme más. El tiempo que me llevó para hacer uno, mi mamá había hecho 3, así que definitivamente estaba desacelerando la producción 🙇🏻♀️ Una vez que terminamos con los aperitivos, y al igual que la increíble madre latina que es, Mami nos sorprendió con el plato principal .. un delicioso plato de Pozole 🤤😍 Ojalá pudiera decir: “mira la receta ...” pero no hay ninguna 😂 porque, de nuevo, ¡Mamí no escribe nada! La amo mucho y estoy muy agradecida por sus lecciones 💖👩🏻🍳
